AREPA DE HUEVO
Arepa de huevo is a colombian recipe that is usually served on carnaval de Barranquilla. This typical dish is delicious, but it includes some ingredients that are not healthy or eco. We modified some ingredients from this recipe, to make it healthier, eco and sustainable.
Original ingredients
- Half cup of wheat flour (75g).
- 1/2 spoon of salt
- 1/2 spoon of sugar. It includes 8 calories and 2.1g of carbohydrates.
- A cup of hot water
- 2 eggs. They include 90 calories (each), 6.5g of fat, 0.4g of carbohydrates and 6.3g of proteins.
- Sunflower Oil. It include 480 calories and 54.4g of fat.
Modified ingredients
- Quinoa flour.
- 1/2 spoon of salt
- 1/4 spoon of fructose It includes 6 calories and 2g of carbohydrates.
- A cup of hot water
- 2 egg whites They include 40 calories, 2g of fat 0.3g of carbohydrates and 3g of proteins.
- Canola oil It include 300 calories and 29g of fat.
The modified recipe ir healthier than the original one. Because it has less calories, less fat and a perfect amount of carbohydrates and proteins. Also is eco, because includes natural products that didn't passed trhroght a long process full of chemicals and pestizides. And also is sustainable, because the cost of each one of the ingredients isn't too hight, and the ingredients used don't make a big impact on the nature.
